Biography

Satabdi Basu joined the Teachable Agents Group in the summer of 2010. She has an undergraduate degree in Computer Science and Engineering from West Bengal University Of Technology, India, and a M.S. degree in Computer Science from Vanderbilt University. She was a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Computer Science and her research focuses on the use of modeling and simulations for synergistic learning of science and Computational Thinking. She has worked on developing adaptive scaffolds for these open-ended modeling and simulation based environments, and is interested in applying different forms of learning analytics to better understand and assess students' learning behaviors in such environments.

After graduating from Vanderbilt University, Dr. Basu joined SRI International as a CS Education Researcher.
